I’ve never been the type to think about selling my home when I buy it. I didn’t think about selling my home while I designed and renovated it. I did it because I loved my home and I love design projects. I knew in the back of my mind that it would help resale value, blah blah blah, all that stuff. It’s good, but not why I do what I do. I love to make my home mine. I want it to reflect me and my family.
A year ago I found myself in my orthopedic surgeons office. My knee is well on its way to arthritis, and I need to get out of my two story house. ASAP. Not exactly what a 33 year old wants to hear, or what a designer who has put her heart and soul into her home wants to hear.
So we’ve been looking. And looking. And looking. The Phoenix real estate market is so hot right now (hehe. See what I did there? Both a movie quote AND a quip about the weather)
Last week we found it. My Spanish beauty with just enough character and the right amount of renovation. It’s a 1979 semi custom single level. We made an offer. Offer accepted. We listed ours. We’ve had a lot of showings, and hoping for an offer this weekend. If all goes well, we will be in right after Thanksgiving.
Here’s to the new Modernish!
